Getting Ready

The clock is ticking....  I feel like the astronauts, "T-minus 8 days and counting."  This coming week will fly by as we make sure that everything is ready to go.  Passports in hand, visas done, tickets purchased, hotels reserved, bags....  uh, well, not exactly packed.  We have decided to carry one week's worth of clothes and do the wash while we are there.

First week will be in Sydney.  I'm looking forward to the big city that is what people most associate with Australia.  Opera house, harbor bridge, a brunch tour of the harbor, and anything else that will mark us as tourists.  After that, we jet off to Brisbane and Bribie Island for the family vacation.  I have spoken with Jacq's dad and he is arranging a meet and greet with the local constabulary while I'm there.  He made me promise to bring a uniform so I can get a photo op in the local paper.  I'll be sure to post that!

Anyway, I plan to keep up with the blog, seeing as how Australia is a civilized country and will have the interwebs available.  If only I knew how to speak the language...  Stay tuned!
